How to Fake a Moon Landing : Exposing the Myths of Science Denial by Darryl Cunningham is a nonfiction graphic novel that uses science to “debunk” certain myths. In this book they cover topics such as the U.S. moon landing, evolution, climate change as well as several others. Cunningham uses a mixture of hand drawn graphics in conjunction with actual photographs to help prove his point. The inclusion of real photographs adds to the scientific feel, but the hand drawn graphics make it easier to understand. With candor and humor, he explains the myth, how it came about, and then uses scientific reasoning to prove it to be just a myth. Cunningham creates a brilliant mix of science, humor and candidness to prove his points in a believable manner. Even if the reader is not interested in science, How to Fake a Moon Landing : Exposing the Myths of Science Denial, is a fun and informative read.
